YA Paper Art Mounting was founded in 2025 by Ching-Ya Lin in Taichung, Taiwan. The studio is dedicated to paper art and traditional mounting, originating from a love of paper and the study of handmade paper and traditional mounting techniques. The studio gradually established a body of paper-based works made from Taiwanese paper mulberry fibers (Kozo), including hanging scrolls, accordion books, folding screens, and other paper artworks, while also offering mounting services for works on paper.

 

About artworks

Using paper mulberry fiber as the primary material, papermaking becomes a way for me to respond to my perception of time and life. Paper was once a living substance; through transformation into paper, it becomes a carrier of time and traces of life. The works seek to transform stillness into a dynamic sensory experience, visualizing invisible time and bodily perception. Through this process, I explore the possibility of translating abstract concepts into tangible materials. I hope that viewers may encounter the work first through vision, then through the body, and ultimately enter a more inward space of perception.

 

About mounting

Mounting is a traditional craft that presents paper-based art, allowing artworks to be preserved and experienced within everyday spaces. The studio follows traditional procedures and prepares handmade wheat paste, adhering to classical techniques. Each work is carefully considered according to its character and artistic context, and an appropriate mounting form is designed accordingly, offering customized services centered on both the artwork and its creator.

 

Mounting Formats: Hanging scrolls, handscrolls, accordion books, thread-bound books, folding screens, and framed works. Custom formats can also be designed according to the specific needs of each artwork.
